Ever since Shout! announced that they would be releasing Transformers: The Movie on blu-ray, we have been waiting patiently to see what they would giving us in terms of the special features department.
Today, Shout! has given us a listing of the special features that we can look forward to on this new blu-ray release.
Here are the features to be included on the 30th Anniversary blu-ray from Shout! Factory:
NEW 'Til All Are One – The Comprehensive Documentary Looking
Back At The Transformers: The Movie With Members Of The Cast And Crew,
Including Story Consultant Flint Dille, Cast Members Gregg Berger, Susan Blu,

Others!
NEW Transformers: The Restoration Featurette
NEW Rolling Out The New Cover Featurette

Flint Dille And Star Susan Blu
Archival Featurettes – "The Death Of Optimus
Prime," "The Cast & Characters," And "Transformers

Animated Storyboards
Original Theatrical Trailers
TV Spot
These are some nice features. So we are getting some new features (always welcomed) and some of the features that were found on 20th Anniversary dvd set released in 2006. However we are not getting ALL of the features found on that set.
Here is what is missing from the new set from Shout!:
Audio Commentary by fans Paul Hitchens, Rik Alverez, Alex Weiner and Joe Moore
Autobot Matrix of Knowledge trivia track
Scramble City (with forced commentary)
Transformers 2007 Sneak Peek and Trailer
Test, Deleted/Alternative Footage (with forced Commentary)
Scramble City Commercials
US Toy Commercials
Easter Eggs
The commentary with the fans was an interesting listen as they pointed out a lot of the mistakes and hidden things found throughout the film.
Scramble City's exclusion is disappointing because that was the only time we ever saw a real release of it in the states. The commentary over the episode, included because the original audio could not be used due to legal issues, is just as good as the commentary that is not included with the Shout! release.
I am excited with the 30th Anniversary Shout! release, but I am disappointed that they did not included the features from the 20th Anniversary edition, but there were probably some legal issues that they could come to terms with in order to include them on the new release.
I guess us fans are going to have to hang on to our old dvd set so that we can have everything.
