I went in for a follow up this past Saturday and was told that, even though I was in serve pain, I was healing just fine. When I asked about the pain in my jaw, which was so serve that I hadn't slept for most of the week, the oral surgeon said that was par for the course and gave me some pain meds (now I see how it is so easy to get addicted to these things.
Late Sunday night the pain was becoming so bad that I started to have the worse panic attack of my life. My wife saw this and took me the ER, where we were told that they couldn't do anything because they weren't dentists. They gave me even more pain meds and sent me on my way.
Monday morning I woke up with very little pain. I was shocked. Very little pain meant that everything would be healed very soon and I could get back to a normal life. I went into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror and saw that the right side of my face had ballooned up. This was a cause for concern so I called the oral surgeon's office to get some antibotics. They told me that I would have to come in because they can't prescribe meds over the phone, nor send a fax to my pharmacy. This is bullshit because doctor's do this all the time. They told me to come in that day and talk to a different oral surgeon,
I got to the office and talk to the surgeon who told me that they would have to cut open the closed off area where the tooth was pulled from and drain whatever was in there. I agreed and then went through some of the worst pain in my life. I have been hit by a car, gotten into numerous auto accidents, push through a window, but this was the worst pain that I have ever felt. After he was done, he told me to come back on Friday and that I should be in the clear by then.
I am going to rest so that I can heal. This means that there will not be any reviews this week, but I do have plans to have something special for either next week or the week following.
Thanks for reading this and understanding what I am going through.
